Before I ever picked up a camera, I decided to book my first professional photography shoot for my little family. I connected with photographer Mikaela Shannon & we met at a park & she photographed us. Sometime down the line, I was a part of her “Love your postpartum” series where she photographed me & my son in our undies (also that photo made it into a magazine which was kind of neat), and again later on I was part of a series she did for mental health. This was all while I was suffering from PPD.

Fast forward a couple of years (after I started my own photography business), I was honoured when she asked ME to photograph her new little fam. They named their son River- how cute is that? He’s a preemie & I know they’ve been on and ongoing journey with him & his health. What a strong set of parents he was blessed with!
